THE “SYPCIT” PROJECT - Let's Build New Defenses to Identity Theft on the Net - Sypcit

The Sypcit project (co-financed by the European Commission, DG Home Affairs) is a collaboration between ADICONSUM, a leading Italian consumer association, Tor Vergata University - the Department of Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering, two specialized companies as Expert System (active in the field of semantic software) and Kaspersky Lab Italy (active in the field of Internet Security) and the Special Technology Fraud team at the Financial Police,. The project has a trans-national dimension with the participation of Romania, through a partnership with the consumers Association Infocons.

The project aims at promoting new models and combat and prevention tools for identity theft in the net, for a better consumers protection.

Among the planned activities, central focus is on: the development of a software platform for the technological support of investigative and enforcement activities conducted by the competent authorities, the creation of an APP for smart phones that helps users to better manage security of their online activities and an information campaign.
